Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain!

What goes on under the hood is what makes your site sing!

Below, you'll find an abbreviated list of the technologies we use for our sites. This is not a complete list, and not all these technologies may be available within your price range, but this list is to give you a good idea of our areas of expertise, and some of the technologies that may be available to you.

Hosting

Hosting means where your website is physically located (as in where all the data hangs out waiting for people to get it). Here are our hosting options:

Internal Hosting: Intended for small to medium sized sites, internal hosting means that we put your website on our server. We control everything from start to finish. The obvious advantage to this solution is that it is much more affordable than the other two options. The other advantage is that we control everything from start to finish, meaning we can offer you a wider array of technologies, functionality, and service than either of the other options. The disadvantage is that our system is not capable of handling extremely heavy traffic.
External Hosting: Intended for larger or high traffic sites, external hosting means your site is hosted by a server farm. The advantage is that these farms can handle the strain of high traffic sites. In addition, your site will not be sharing its space with any other sites or processes. The disadvantage is that it is much more expensive than internal hosting, and we cannot offer as many services, as the services offered will be dependent on the hosting partner.
DIY Hosting: This solution is for small to medium sized business that ALREADY have a webserver. In this case, we will develop the site on your server using your technology. The advantage is that you can continue using your current hardware, the disadvantage is that we cannot offer system administration or system support for existing servers.

Technologies

We are an Apple shop. While both David and Jennifer have experience in Windows and Unix, we prefer to use Apple products for our solutions. Here is a short list of the technologies we use in web design and development (not all may be available for your project):

Server: Mac OS X 10.4 Server (Tiger Server)
Scripting Languages: PHP, ColdFusion, JavaScript, ASP, Java
Database: Oracle, PostgreSQL, FileMaker Pro, mySQL
Multimedia: Flash, QuickTime

Not Just Web Sites

In addition to developing websites, we can also develop applications in FileMaker Pro. We also are available for smaller print design projects. It is not our bread and butter, but we certainly would love to help (and kinda miss doing desktop publishing!)
