Back in the Day, it was all about bending the rules
Back when the World Wide Web was in its infancy, developers used to post to Usenet and BBS’s nifty tips and tricks they’d discovered as they created web pages. In the early days, the web was slow, and HTML was not fully developed. Something as simple as aligning text with a picture took enormous creativity and problem solving.

Since the mid-90s, the World Wide Web has come into its own, and now things are much easier for developers. We have amazing tools, scripting languages, back-end systems, and off-the-shelf software that do things that we could have never imagined years ago...

... But it has come at a price:

These tools are expensive, sometimes kludgey, and give the Web a sanitized one-size-fits-all look and feel, where often, small business sites just struggle to keep a presence.

At Jennifer Brown Design, we still embrace the pioneering spirit of the original web developers. Perhaps because we are some of the world’s original web developers. Both Jennifer and David have been designing sites since 1995. Our philosophy embraces the concepts we started with: making something amazing with affordable resources.

The result is that we can build world-class calibre sites, at a price that a small business can afford. We do not offer “templates” or “enter your company name here...” type sites. Our goal with every project is to build something that is affordable, accessible, memorable, and easy to use.

Most of all, we build you something that embraces what you and your business is all about.
